Children Communicating, Connecting and in Community

Children Communicating, Connecting and in Community is a preschool pilot program provided through the Canada-Saskatchewan Early Learning and Child Care Agreement which is helping to provide a quality early learning program designed to support the development of communication skills for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

This pilot program provides access to early educational intervention for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to reduce communication barriers when communicating with their families, other children and in the community. The ability to communicate well is necessary for success in school and overall well-being in childhood and in the future.

Overview:

  • Located in Saskatoon
  • Half day program, four days per week
  • Up to 16 spots available
  • Open to children 3 or 4 years old (4 year olds will be given priority)
  • Children who are Deaf of Hard of Hearing will be given priority
  • Children who have a connection to the Deaf or Hard of Hearing communities (ex. D/HH family member) may also apply
